Western Kentucky was recently hit by a series of devastating tornadoes, resulting in the greatest loss of life in state history. As the tornado destroyed a wide swath of infrastructure, power was out for days and communication was severely disrupted. As long as some of the cell towers remained functional, emergency information was able to be shared. Many of our senior care clients were able to communicate with employees to ensure they were okay and to coordinate coverage schedules. Equally important, administrators were able to immediately communicate with the families of residents to let them know that every resident was fine and that their communities emerged somewhat unscathed.
